Ice Cream for the Kids

On May 6, 2011, Arturo Gabaldón, Exalted Ruler and five Elk volunteers headed to Sopori Elementary School in Amado to host an ice cream social for 200+ students and their teachers. The ice cream social was a thank you for Soporis' students participation in Elk youth activities throughout the year. The youth programs included drug awareness essays, red ribbon week, soccer shoot-out and hoop shoot. Although the Elks were thanking the students with the ice cream social, all of these smiling, excited students had a huge thank you for us as they picked up their ice cream treat--a wonderful reward for all.
